Community members from Guyuk did not have the capacity to engage government officials and other key stakeholders to attract community development until they were trained on how to use the “Community Development Plan” template. One of the priority issues they wanted to achieve was construction of an Examination hall in Kola ward. They did not only request this from the government but they also sent the plea to Savanna Sugar company who is resident in the area. For the company, they factored the request as one of their Corporate Social Responsibility and within one year, the company has completed the project ad handed same over to the community. The Community Development Officer for the Local government appreciated European Union, OXFAM and CRUDAN for equipping them to engage proactively and harvest results.
