BIRNIN KEBBI VSLA REPLICATION MOTORBIKE LAUNCH AND DISTRIBUTIONS

Last week, Binrin Kebbi LGA, one of 3 PROACT Project Local Government of Intervention in Kebbi State, distributed Motorbikes to Local Government Field Officers Coordinating the Project Village Savings and Loans Association replication in the Local Government. The Launch of these motorbikes which took place at the Local Government Secretariat was attended by His Excellency, Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu.

His Excellency, pledges more support for to the VSLA groups while reinstating his commitments to empowering youths and women in the state through the informal setup of VSLAs. He thus requested that the Village Savings and Loans Association groups should collectively engage Government on key service delivery issues within their communities while encouraging them to also write to request for rice milling machines, threshers, grinding and other empowerment support initiative through the LG Chairman.

The Launch was attended by PROACT Oxfam State Coordinating Units, led by the Head of Programs, Mr Isaac Omorogbe who gave the goodwill message on behalf of the entire team. The Project Manager, Olumide Ojo during his remarks encourage other Local Government Areas and their Leadership to emulate Birnin Kebbi Project replication initiative while stressing the fact that the project would continue to support Government to improving its response capacity towards social protection and early warning system towards achieving food security and strengthening resilience amongst poor rural households in the State.

    How I wish the government of all state will take this to use it and create job opportunity and another way of helping the farmers to support themselves and teaching them a new way of savings which can make farmers have the mindset of enrolling into commercial banks
