I am Aisha Yusuf living in Jandutsi with my husband and 8 children, during this time I have no idea about food nutrition most at time my family and I eat the same kind of food without looking about the side effect all we know is to eat and be satisfy. Even when I give births I don’t mind with the nutritional food because I felt it do not affect the child.
WHAT HAS CHANGE
As a member of a VSLA group, the PROACT conducted food demonstration in the community and I was part of those who attended the training, during the training we were thought on how to prepare food which can build up the body. The facilitator said during the training that some of these nutritional diets are found in our community, just that we don’t bother on how to mix them. Now I can prepare different varieties of food which are of nutritional value. Apart from the nutritional aspect, I can now also visit the primary health care to check about my health and that of my children, which I don’t do before.
This project has brought more change to the community and I have seen the important of nutritional in the life of my family. I encourage the PROACT to do more in enlightenment to women on personal hygiene and nutrition
