The year 2019 was filled with lots of programs activities all hinged on the specific objectives of the PROACT project with the aim of ensuring sustainability of the project by the various State and Local Government Actors who have been encouraged to replicate and adopt the project intervention strategies and components in their various coverage areas while strengthening their governance reforms towards ensure quality service delivery to the people of Kebbi State.
The first half of the year 2019 saw various workshops and community engagements which includes the commemoration of the International Day of Women, capacity building on Community Development Plans, various training on Good Agricultural Practices for farmers through the Farmer Training Field School situated in all LGAs of intervention. These engagements has created a platform for interaction between the rural people and the duty bearer at various levels of Governments.
The later half of the year 2019, also witnessed frequent high level influencing and advocacy engagement that generated huge successes that saw the replication of certain components such as The Village Savings and Loans Associations, The Grain banks and the livestock program in non-PROACT communities in the Birnin-Kebbi LGA of Kebbi state, thus setting the pace for other LGAs to follow, adding to the endorsement from the Kebbi State Government during the launch and distribution of motorcycles to the Birnin-Kebbi replication officers which was a remarkable event that graced the last quarter of the year 2019.
Finally, the year 2019 witnessed the media tour that showcased the PROACT project success story to the general public as part of her social accountability responsibility obligations and documentations.
The project team would continue to deliver on the project goals to improving food security and resilience in Kebbi and Adamawa State.
