Weather and Market Information Board Distribution in Guyuk LGA, Adamawa State

PROACT in Adamawa have commenced the distribution of weather and market information board to local communities across Guyuk, Fufore, Song and Mubi South Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

This initiative is to support smallholder farmers with weather forecast information which would enable them prepare better during the wet season farming, Weather information on this board would also help farmers avert climate shocks resulting for flood, While the price information corner of the board is geared to enhance the food price system within the communities, setting farmers at a greater edge in planning for their post harvest supply and sales of food crops.

All of these platforms are expected to be led by the Extension service agents and community lead farmers who would be supported through an information sharing system based on USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) technology and other key information source from the Nimet forecast.
